Information about David the Music Man's shows
David's shows are of approximately an hour's duration and involve the children participating in singing, dancing, clapping and playing some of the simpler instruments. In each programme David uses about twenty instruments from the following list (a few more may be added when you see him):|
Anglo Concertina, Appalachian Dulcimer, Accordion, Banjo, Bodhran, Bouzouki, Churango, Clapping Sticks, Clarinet, Darabuka, Djembe, Euphonium, Flute, Guitar, Harmonica, Harp, Kazoo, Keyboards, Mandolin, Maracas, Mbira, Peepah, Rainstick, Recorder, Saxaphone, Tambourine, Tuned Steel Drum, Tin Whistle, Trombone, Trumpet, Ukulele, Violin and of course voice.
In the show David talks about the instruments, how they work, their history, their culture and plays examples of their traditional music.
|David is also happy to spend additional time at the end of the show answering any further questions the children may have about the instruments and the music.|

Participatory concert of music, children's songs and dances.
Explanation and demonstration of musical instruments and their history.
Discussion of musical concepts and rhythms.
This concert can be structured to cover the complete age range of the school or to suit different age levels as required.
- Kindergarten & Child Care
Duration: 50-60 minutes
Suggested maximum group size 70 children
A concert of nursery rhymes and popular songs, introducing the instruments, simple clapping, dance movements, concepts of rhythm, tempo and pitch.
